Karen L. Glassman

Ms. Glassman is Managing Director of Unio Capital and serves as President and CEO of Unio Asset Management, a wholly-owned division of Unio Capital. Her responsibilities include all aspects of global marketing, branding, and client investment expertise.
Ms. Glassman has over 25 years of sales and marketing experience in the asset management industry. She has created and implemented successful marketing and investment campaigns while establishing herself as a trusted advisor to a network of prominent clients worldwide including high-net-worth families, pension funds, endowments, and foundations.
Before joining Unio, Ms. Glassman served as Chief Marketing Officer for Tirschwell & Loewy, Inc., and oversaw a period of significant growth in assets. Prior to that, Ms. Glassman was Deputy Managing Director of W.P. Stewart & Co., a firm that managed a peak of $15 billion in concentrated equity portfolios for large institutions, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. From 1992 through 2003, Ms. Glassman served as Vice President and then President and Chief Executive Officer of Papamarkou & Company, a firm with more than $3 billion in assets that advised and invested on behalf of private clients around the world. Ms. Glassman’s extensive knowledge of investments, ability to speak multiple languages, and broad contact base served in increasing and maintaining the company’s asset base. From 1984 to 1992, Ms. Glassman was the first and only female arbitrage trader in the history of Bear Stearns & Co., Inc. Ms. Glassman began her career at Bear Stearns in the International department and was responsible for creating a new platform that dramatically changed the delivery of the firm’s research throughout all Bear Stearns offices worldwide.
Ms. Glassman holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ithaca College in Music coupled with studies in finance. Her finance credentials include multiple licenses including a General Securities Principal, Licensed Equity Trader, and Investment Banking Representative.
Ms. Glassman is a concert pianist, an accomplished composer, and an avid golfer. She is fluent in French and Greek and conversant in Spanish.
She has both present and past affiliations with prominent institutions such as the Rockefeller University Council, the New York City Mentoring Program, the Financial Woman's Association, and Rose & Co. Capital Advisors.
